Cairn Curran Reservoir is located about 10km west of Maldon. There are numerous boat ramps and places to picnic and fish along its shores. In summer it beckons swimmers, yachties and water-skiers. Moreover, there's a wonderful variety of bird species to be observed from the shoreline.

Maldon has a number of hikes, walking tracks, mountain biking trails, and lookouts including the tower on Mount Tarrengower where you can treat yourself to a breathtaking 365° view of the region.
